WHO ARE GRAVESEND ART GROUP?
Gravesend Art Group was formed in 1959 and celebrated 60 years in 2019. We meet
every Friday evening in the Veterans Association Hall, Clarence Place, Gravesend,
from 7.00pm – 9.00pm. During the summer months we try to paint outside when possible. You
will find the current programme on our website so you can see the kind of sessions
we have planned for the next few weeks.
We hold an annual exhibition at St Andrew’s Arts Centre which takes place over 10
days late August/September, an Annual Dinner, an Annual Quiz, social events, day
trips and outings to places of interest, and many of our members take part in other
local events and exhibitions. We are a very informal, friendly crowd and we are
all very happy to help and advise each other, but we do not teach and expect you
to be competent enough to work on your own.
Membership fee is currently £25 per annum payable on the 1st April each year. People
joining after the exhibition pay a pro rata amount for their months of membership
and there is a reduced fee for full time students. No further charges are made for
our meetings, as this covers hire of the hall, models and demonstrations by visiting
You will find more information on our Facebook page under Gravesend Art Group which
is updated regularly with pictures of the weekly sessions.
We like people to come along to a meeting, and join in the session if they want to,
before they decide whether to join the Group. If you are interested in joining us,
please contact us on the above email address and our secretary will arrange the best
day for you to come to a meeting.
We look forward to hearing further from you.
