GAG Annual Exhibition 2017 at St Andrew’s Art Centre
Good Attendance Numbers
Nearly 900 people visited our Annual Exhibition during the last week of August and the start of September. There were lots of positive comments from the visitors and many different pictures were chosen as “Best in Show” with Colin Wright’s “Fox and the Crows”, Peter Vigor’s “Tilbury Reflections” and Linda Stocker’s “Summer Home” coming top of the poll!
Comments from the Visitors’ Book
“Brilliant – a very good show – enjoyed the different media” “I enjoyed looking at all the paintings – it was a very good show” “Thought general standard very high – really enjoyed my visit” “Very good indeed” “An excellent exhibition as always. A very high standard of paintings” “A good standard of art with some really good examples – thank you” “Very enjoyable show”
The exhibition was opened at the Preview Evening by the Mayor and Mayoress of Gravesham, Cllr Harold Craske and Mrs Veronica Craske. Vice Chairman Dierdre Beven welcomed everyone and introduced our guests.
Gravesend Art Group Members Dot, Pauline, Paul, Alet, Linda, Sue and Penny put on an excellent exhibition over the weekend. They were also joined by Julian Kent who displayed his beautiful pottery which had been made using interesting and unusual techniques. Unfortunately the weather was terrible on the Saturday so few visitors but better on the Sunday when more came and they sold some work. They certainly had fun!
